IEFE Bocconi - The Institute for Environment and Energy Economics and Policy is a research centre operating within Bocconi University, Milan. The institute was created in 1957 within the aim of carrying out research in the field of energy and environmental public policies as well as in the area of corporate management by the private sector. IEFE carried out several research projects funded by the European Commission within different action and research programmes, funded (among the others) by DG Environment, DG Research, DG Enterprises, DG Energy, Eurostat. In the specific field of the present proposal, IEFE was co-ordinator of many EC-funded research, such as two Emas pilot projects in Italy, a project for the coordination of all the Emas pilot experience in the EU, a project for the launch of the EU Ecolabel in Italy and Benelux.

SANT’ANNA SUPERIOR SCHOOL FOR UNIVERSITY STUDIES - Sant’Anna superior school for university studies is a public institution whose aims are to promote and advance scientific knowledge both through university study and through doctoral research. The traditional goal of the School is to train young scholars for scientific research and the teaching profession. In 1994, the School created and launched the first Master degree in Environmental Management in Italy, which today is still a leading reference within this research area. In this perspective, the School carried out many research activities, with the support of EC funded resources, dealing with environmental policies, with a particular focus on their relations with territorial and local development issues. Its strong ties with the regional economic and industrial system, makes the Sant’Anna School a fundamental partner for the present proposal

LUCCA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - Lucca Chamber of Commerce is a public institution aiming at supporting enterprises on a territorial basis in the normative, statistical an promotional contexts. The Chamber of Commerce is involved in many environment-oriented projects on the safeguarding of the eco-systems and supports the enterprises on technical norms, EU funding and environmental and quality certification. It participated in numerous EU projects funded by the following programmes: Leader II, Life Nature and Enterprises

ASSOCIATION OF THE INDUSTRIAL IN THE LUCCA PROVINCE - The Association is the local trade association of Lucca, which provides support of a technical and juridical nature in the areas of labour, economy, fiscal matters, health and safety and environmental issues. It participates in local consortia for waste collection and the management of water purification collective plants. The Association participated in environment-oriented EU-funded projects, such as “Paper Bref” (V Programme) and “Closed” (Life Environment).

THE PESCIA MUNICIPALITY - The Pescia Municipality is a local authority dealing with territorial planning and governance. It is the only part of the cluster which is located outside the Province of Lucca (in the Province of Pistoia), covering a surface of 7.914 ha. The environmental matters are managed through the office for the relations with enterprises, dealing with permitting and authorisation. This guarantees a tight connection with the socio-economic actors of the territory. The Pescia Municipalityparticipated in a EC ADAPT programme and managed the resources provided by EC Reg. 2081/93, regarding objective 5b.

SCA Packaging and Delicarta - Sca Packaging and Delicarta are two of the most active and innovative paper producers in the field of environmental management (with relevant experience in the certification ISO 14001) and are representative of the industry in the Cluster Co-ordination Organism.
